The Florida Atlantic University football team will have one more practice outside the Oxley Center Thursday afternoon as the Owls prepare to face Troy on Saturday in Alabama at 2 p.m. On the line for the winner is the Sun Belt Championship and a trip to the New Orleans Bowl on December 21.
Events are planned in advance of the Owls match-up with the Trojans on Saturday. Thursday afternoon, join the FAU marching band, Owsley the Mascot, members of the FAU dance team and the prOWLers as they hold a rally before the final practice at 4 p.m. at the practice fields behind the Tom Oxley Athletic Center.
Friday afternoon, greet the FAU football team and coaches at the Owl launch in front of the Oxley Center at 1:30 p.m. Fans are encouraged to bring their Owl towels, pom-poms, and noisemakers to give a proper sendoff to the football team as they depart for Alabama.
Saturday afternoon, the FAU Owls face Troy at 2 p.m. The game can be seen on CSS, a Comcast Cable affiliate (Channel 32 in the Palm Beach market, Channel 63 in the Miami/Dade market, Channel 41 in Broward County). The game can be heard on WMEN-AM 640, beginning at 1:45 p.m., and on-line at www.fausports.com. The Owl Club will hold its official watch party on Saturday at Duffy's Sports Grill, 21212 St. Andrews Boulevard, Boca Raton. There will be free appetizers and drink specials throughout the game.
