The Florida Atlantic University football team returned to practice on Friday for the third straight day to stay tuned up during the bye week.
Both the offense and defense went to work against the scout team as the first team got more reps to prepare for next Saturday's game with Arkansas State. The offense continued their practice on the run. They also worked on their shotgun sets, as Rusty Smith worked on plays against the blitz, and on third and long.
On the other side of the ball, the defense continued their work against Arkansas State's spread sets. Michael Hancock and Carldayle Brantley saw extended reps with the first unit during team drills.
Practice ended earlier than usual, as Head Coach Howard Schnellenberger gave his players a head start on Saturday's day off for the Owls.
FAU returns to action on November 10, when FAU faces Arkansas State at Lockhart Stadium at 4 p.m. It is senior day, and tickets are still available by calling the FAU ticket office at 1-866-FAU-OWLS.
