Boca Raton, FL - Wednesday evening the Florida Atlantic University football team held practice, due to classes being canceled as a result of Tropical Storm Ernesto. It was a light day as the team worked without pads.
The offense and defense went up against their respective scout teams for most of practice. Scout team members simulated the Clemson playbook.
On offense, Rusty Smith made several strong throws, including a 20-yard pass to Frantz Simeon down the left sideline. B.J. Manley made a catch in the right flat that he ran for 10-yards.
The defense came up with quite a few big stops. Mark Maycock picked off a pass and returned it for 15-yards. Randy Hunter closed a hole in the middle of the field to prevent a big run.
Special teams members had a chance to practice in very windy conditions. They mostly focused on kick-offs and field goals.
Practice resumes Thursday at 4 p.m.
