Messer Accepts Wideout Workshop Invite

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic football's redshirt senior WR Easton Messer has received an invitation and officially committed to the 2026 "Wideout Workshop," presented by Panini America and hosted by former NFL All-Pro WR Chad "Ochocinco" Johnson.
"I'm really grateful for the opportunity and honored to have gotten the invite," said Messer. "I'm really excited to just get out there with the guys and see how my game compares to some of the best receivers in the country and find out what areas I can get better in to make it to the next level."
The 2025 American Conference Second-Team honoree, Messer, led the nation in receptions per game and became just the fourth Owl in program history to break the 1,000-yard receiving plateau, becoming third all-time in single-season yards. In the return game, Messer and the Owls finished No. 3 nationally in punt returns averaging 18.87 yards per return. He continuously showed his versatility for the Owls, becoming the first non-quarterback to throw, rush, and catch a touchdown in a single season. Entering 2026, Messer has had a reception in 30 straight games, dating back to the last four games of the 2023 season.
WIDEOUT WORKSHOP PRESENTED BY PANINI AMERICA
Founded by Johnson in 2025, the three-day Wideout Workshop, May 11-13 in Miami, is hosting the best collegiate and NFL WRs with a goal of gathering together the next generation looking to leave their mark. The three-day workshop gives receivers an opportunity to work out together while developing and adding to their repertoire. Recent alumni include Ja'Marr Chase, Tyreek Hill, Jerry Jeudy, Jaxon Smith-Njigba, and more. In 2025, two of the top four NFL leaders in receiving yards were alumni of the first annual workshop.
