Boca Raton, FL- - On Thursday afternoon Florida Atlantic University held its only practice of the day. The team made it count, performing well on all cylinders.
"Our offense bounced back and did much better today," said head coach Howard Schnellenberger. "The quarterbacks threw with authority and the receivers ran good routes."
The highlight of the day was during 11-on-11's when Cortez Gent made an acrobatic diving catch on a thirty-yard bomb from Rusty Smith. Wide-out Avery Holley also looked sharp registering a touchdown reception.
In the one-on-one receiver drills, Sean Clayton completed multiple passes to Frantz Simeon. Defensive back Tavoris Hill played well, making an aggressive swat on a pass attempt.
The defense shined the most during the blitz drill. Lineman Vinnie Henderson made a sack and defensive back Kris Bartels picked-off a pass.
John Rizzo is still listed as day-to-day with a rib contusion. Tight end Rob Harmon sat out practice with a hip-strain and is also day-to-day.
Tomorrow's practice will be the final three-a-day session of the season. With the practice times tentatively set to start at 8:00 a.m, 10:30 a.m, and 4:30 p.m.
