Football Alum Falls in Fatal Accident

BOCA RATON, FL - Ramon Rickards, a Florida Atlantic University football player from 2000-2004, was involved in a fatal motorcycle accident, Wednesday, May 24.
Upon hearing the tragic news of Ramon's loss, Coach Howard Schnellenberger had the following statement: "The news of Ramon Rickards' tragic death has brought great sorrow to the Florida Atlantic family. Our heart felt sympathy goes out to Ramon's family. The Owl football program in its infancy is being built by young men just like Ramon. Ramon accepted the challenge to come to FAU on the belief of what would come. He quickly became a teammate and leader who propelled FAU into the Division I-AA playoffs and eventually into Division I-A. Ramon will forever be remembered as a young man who was instrumental in the evolution of this program."
