BOCA RATON, FL - Florida Atlantic University held its final Tuesday practice session this afternoon. The team is in high focus for its final game of the season against rival FIU (0-10) in the Shula Bowl, at Dolphin stadium on Saturday.
"I'm looking forward to (the Shula Bowl)," said quarterback Sean Clayton. "Anytime you play in a rivalry game it's always fun."
The session began with punt and covers with some work on the two-man sled. Later on, individual defensive units worked on agility tackling and blocking drills.
In seven-on-sevens, Rusty Smith found Jamari Grant on a 25-yard-strike. Frantz Simeon looked good at the receiver spot, making a reception on a screen-pass at the right-sideline. He gained 12-yards on the play.
During the team scrimmage, Ted Czepiga found his way into multiple pass break-ups. On offense, the tight-ends came up with some big plays. Jason Harmon made an acrobatic grab on a short toss over the flat, while Conshario Johnson came up with a 27-yard reception over his shoulder.
Practice resumes Wednesday at 3:30 p.m.
