BOCA RATON, FL - Florida Atlantic University Football held its first football practice of the week on Wednesday after getting Tuesday off. The team began its preparation for Southern Utah, who they open their home schedule against on Thursday October 12.
"A bye week is as important as any other week, said Troy Pindell. "It's a time for us not only to rest and recuperate, but also fine tune our skills for upcoming opponents."
The Owls held a light session, with the team split into two groups. Most of the first-string players participated in sprints and other conditioning exercises. The rest of the team took part in a mini-scrimmage.
C.J. Lee looked impressive, registering a sack and a fumble on the defensive side of the ball. Avery Holley played well on offense, making one catch where he immediately eluded two defenders and got a first down after picking up 15-yards.
Practice resumes Thursday at 3:30 p.m.
