Troy, AL - J.P. Bounassar remained perfect on the season with a straight set victory at #3 singles in Florida Atlantic University's 5-1 loss to Troy University.
"J.P. did a nice job winning two days in a row," said David Komie, FAU's head coach. "He has also won two tiebreakers."
The match was the second in as many days for the Owls, both on the road.
"Eric Hayes has done a nice job bringing in new players to Troy. They are a deep team that really kick our butts at the bottom of the lineup. I also think that our top two players have played strong competition the last two matches and will use that to their advantage the upcoming matches." Komie added.
The match began with singles play do the threat of rain. Double matches were not played.
The Owls who fell to 0-2 on the season will play twice more before their first home match, Feb. 4 at Patch Reef Park. FAU will play Tuesday, Jan. 24 at South Alabama and noon and will return home to prepare for a Saturday, Jan. 28 match-up against the University of Miami.
