BOCA RATON, FL- With the season opener versus Kansas just three days away, Florida Atlantic University was fine tuning its game plan during Wednesday's practice at the Tom Oxley Athletic field.
The offensive line consisting of Nello Faulk, Nick Paris, Jarrid Smith, Stetson Wilson, and Antes Perkins did an excellent job opening up running lanes for DiIvory Edgecomb during drills.
Lawrence Gordon had an interception during seven-on-seven drills.
The Owls non-conference schedule is one of toughest in school history, with Kansas being the first foe on list. The players know it will be a challenge to match-up with the Jayhwaks, but feel they are ready for the task at hand. "Working hard all summer during camp has prepared us to compete against Kansas," said linebacker Shomari Earls.
Head Coach Howard Schnellenberger knows that the Jayhawks bring a tough defense into Saturday's game adding, "Kansas is certainly a formidable opponent, this will be a great test for us."
The Owls will hold their final practice at the Tom Oxley Athletic field tomorrow at 4 p.m. before leaving for Lawrence, Kansas on Friday.
