BOCA RATON, FL -- In preparation for its battle against Troy University, Florida Atlantic University was ironing out its plan of attack against the Trojans on Saturday.
The Owls (1-7, 1-3) will be playing in their sixth road game of season this weekend when they visit Troy, AL. The 3:30 p.m. start will mark only the second game of the year that an FAU contest will kickoff before 4 p.m.
Saturday's showdown will feature the toughest pass defenses in the Sun Belt Conference as the Owls give up just 171.4 yards through the air while the Trojans allow just 192.4 yards per game.
The match-up will feature a difference of offensive styles as the Owls throw for 177.1 yards a game, while the Trojans (3-5, 2-2) average 130.6 yards on the ground this season. "They have a good running attack and potential to make plays in the passing game. They are very sound at what they do," linebacker Shomari Earls said.
Saturday's tilt will air on FSN Florida beginning at 3:30 p.m.
