BOCA RATON, FL -- After having a rain-shortened practice on Tuesday afternoon, the Florida Atlantic University football team held an in-depth practice as it prepares for Troy University.
The Owls focused on installing their game-plan for the Trojans for the majority of practice. The offense worked on short yardage situations during the middle of practice.
Linebacker Erik Benson recovered a fumble in the end zone during goal line drills. The Owls' offense bounced back when Danny Embick connected with Thomas Parker on an 80-yard touchdown.
Kicker Daniel Kennard was 8-of-10 on field goals during simulated game situations. He was a perfect 6-of-6 from inside 40-yards.
FAU will visit Troy, AL to battle the Trojans on Saturday afternoon. The Owls have just three games remaining and look to the end season on a high note. "As a team we have been coming together all year and we are going to try to go out with a bang," linebacker Shomari Earls said.
Florida Atlantic and Troy will kickoff at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. Owl fans will be able to catch all the action on Sun Sports TV. A new edition of "The Howard Schnellenberger Show" will air tomorrow afternoon on Sun Sports at 4:30 p.m.
The Owls will return to the practice field tomorrow at 2:30 p.m.
