Florida Atlantic University completed its second day of competition at the Georgia Tech Invitational on Saturday. Kevin Bartell led the team with a win in the 100 breast and placed second in the 100 fly.
A sophomore from Bakersfield, CA, Bartell won the men's 100 breast and recorded an NCAA consideration time in 55.09. David Parker and Kyle DeCicco also finished in the top eight. Parker touched the wall in 57.37 for fourth place and DeCicco finished seventh in 59.24.
Bartell also advanced to the finals of the 100 fly where he placed second by touching the wall in 49.40.
Geni Burts advanced to the finals of the 400 IM where she placed fourth in 4:27.80 to pick up 15 points for FAU.
Freshman Jennifer Forcht advanced to the finals of the 100 fly. It was the second event in as many days that the Louisville, KY native advanced to the finals. She finished seventh with a time of 57.94.
Two swimmers advanced to the finals of the 100 breast. Ellie Weberg and Halle Kiehlmier earned second and sixth place in the event with times of 1:03.49 and 1:06.12, respectively. Weberg's time was a NCAA consideration time and added 17 points for FAU.
Both Lindsey Alexander and Jonathon Pinto took second in the 100 back. Alexander posted a time of 57.13 and Pinto picked up 12 points in a time of 54.11.
The women's 200 medley relay team of Alexander, Weberg, Forcht and Bianca Murphy recorded a time of 1:57.31 for third place.
In the three-meter diving event, Lauren Harvath led the Owls with a score of 292.90 for fourth place.
The 15th-ranked Seminoles continue to lead the men's meet with 921 points, followed by Georgia Tech (595), Western Kentucky (485) and Florida Atlantic (390). No. 16 FSU leads the women's meet with 803.50 points, followed by Georgia Tech (393), FAU (370.50), Rice (366), Western Kentucky (347), Gardner-Webb (199), Miami (176) and New Orleans (46).
Sunday is the final day of competition at the three-day event.
