BOCA RATON, FL - A day after holding its first practice on the softball field parking lot, Florida Atlantic University's football team went back to work in full pads Wednesday afternoon on its regular practice fields. The Owls continued its preparations for this Saturday's game against Illinois State University (2-1) as the offense and defense worked extensively against the Redbirds scout teams. FAU finished practice with field goal and wide receiver/defensive back drills.
Florida Atlantic ran 11 extra point/field goal plays. Mark Myers connected on eight of 11 field goal attempts, hitting from as far as 47-yards. Jason Pugh blocked one attempt while Myers was forced to throw the ball away on another attempt after a bad snap. Frantz Simeon faked out Quincy Skinner in wide receiver/defensive back drills, getting a rousing applause from teammates.
