Boca Raton, FL - With one three-a-day left in 2004 preseason camp, the faces and movement on the depth chart showed fatigue and the use of time off for those needing to rest nagging injuries.
Four players traditionally on the two-deep were held out of practice with injuries which allowed players an opportunity to move up and to receive reps against the starters. Players like Dekolan James, Ryan McNally and Bob Edwards moved up. Stetson Wilson, who moved to the defensive side of the ball during spring practice, was praised coming off the field for his efforts.
William Gray, a senior who has played in ever game of the program's three-year history, moved into the starting defensive end spot, but doesn't believe his work is done.
"I'm doing alright, but I still have a lot of improvement to do. I want to continue to work hard on every play. This season will be event more difficult with a harder schedule," said Gray.
Defensive Coordinator Kirk Hoza praise both Taheem Acevedo and Jerrell Terry following practice.
More time was spent on the "Blitz Drill" and the "Team Drill" showed an emphasis on the passing game.
Anthony Jackson also broke free on several plays.
The evening practice Friday is scheduled for 4:30 pm. It is free and open to the public.
FanFest is scheduled for 2 pm, Saturday, at Lockhart.
