BOCA RATON, FL. - Florida Atlantic University's football team returned to practice after a much needed day off. The Owls wasted little time preparing for their upcoming opponent, Illinois State, working extensively against the Red Birds scout teams. Head coach Howard Schnellenberger, though, allowed both the offensive and defensive first teams to leave practice early.
The Owls offense seemed to spark during scout team drills, as Jared Allen connected with Thomas Parker on a 30-yard pass. Parker beat his defender on a streak route on the right sideline, easily making the catch.
The last Gridiron Social of the 2004 football season will be on Wednesday, November 17 while coach Schnellenberger will host a football breakfast on Friday, November 19. For more information visit www.fausports.com.
