Howard Advances to the U.S. Olympic Trials

Travis Howard qualified for the 2004 U.S. Olympic Trials on April 1-5 at the ConocoPhillips National Swimming Championship. Howard, a junior from Apopka, FL, swam in the 100 and 200 meter breaststroke and 200 IM. He finished 15th in the 100 breast with a time of 1:04.17. The time came under the Olympic Trial Cut Time of 1:04.29. He will advance to the U.S. Olympic Trials to be held in July 2004.
In the 200 breaststroke, Howard finished 17th with a time of 2:20.94 and 50th in the 200 IM with a time of 2:12.00.
Robert Langsett also competed in the meet. He finished 20th in the 800-meter freestyle with a time of 8:27.12. In the 400 free he placed 28th after touching the wall in 4:04.11. Langsett is a sophomore from Fort Lauderdale.
