Logan Thornsberry

After completing a four-year student athlete career, including being named team captain for the Florida Atlantic swimming and diving team, Logan Thornsberry joined the coaching staff at his alma mater as volunteer assistant coach prior to the 2025-26 season.
At the conclusion of his four-year FAU career from 2021 to 2025, Thornsberry left as the school record holder in the 200 free relay, 400 free relay, 800 free relay. His mark was left in the freshman record book, holding the 400 free relay, 200 medley relay, 400 medley relay.
As a senior, Thornsberry earned four medals at the 2025 ASUN Conference Championships, including gold in the 800 free relay which also broke the program record. As a junior in 2024, he earned a bronze medal as a member of the 800 free relay team at the Owls’ first ASUN Championships. In the Owls last CCSA championships in 2023, he reached the podium as a silver medalist in the 500 free. A 2025 FAU graduate, he earned his degree in Criminal Justice with a minor In Disaster Management.
A native of Seminole, Fla., Thornberry was the Pinellas County Swimmer of the Year after receiving All-America swimming honors in the 200 free relay. At the time of graduation, he left Seminole High School as the record holder in the 200 and 400 free relays. Throughout his high school under Coach Spurgeon and Coach Cox, Thornsberry was a state finalist all four years. He was a member of the West Florida Lightning Aquatics Club and was named most valuable swimmer for club team. He came to Florida Atlantic as the no. 27 swimmer in his class out of Florida.
