Johnson joined the FAU football staff as an analyst in August prior to the start of the 2021 season.
At Arkansas
Johnson got his start in coaching as graduate assistant at Arkansas. As an offensive GA during the 2020 season, he was essential in helping the Razorbacks’ offensive coaches with weekly game plans while assisting coaches with scouting and recruiting. Going into 2021 spring camp, Johnson served as the special teams GA before making his way to Boca Raton.

Playing Career
Johnson played at Richmond for four seasons as a quarterback, appearing in 15 games. In his first career start in 2016, he tossed 315 yards in Richmond’s playoff win over North Carolina AT&T, becoming the first Spider to throw for 300+ yards in their first career start. He finished the year 50-of-76 for 761 yards and three touchdowns. In 2018, Johnson appeared in seven games with six starts under center, finishing the season 90-for-164 for 1,302 yards and five touchdowns.
Wrapping up his collegiate career, Johnson played a season at Western Illinois where he played in four games with one start. He finished with 379 yards and six touchdowns for the Leathernecks.
High School
Johnson was a three-sport athlete at Pace Academy in Atlanta. As a quarterback, he was a four-time All-Region First Team recipient and four-time Team MVP. During his senior season, Johnson earned All-State First Team accolades and led the team to the Elite Eight while obtaining school records for total passing yards and total touchdown passes. Johnson also was a member of the 4x400 region and state championship team in track & field and a senior leader of the region championship and Elite Eight finalist basketball team.
