Junior (2010): Appeared in two games and recorded one save...missed the majority of the season with an injury to his throwing arm...was granted a medical redshirt for the 2011 season.
Sophomore (2009): Another impressive season, leading the team in saves (6), K[apos]s per nine innings (11.07), games finished (14)... ranked second on the staff in K[apos]s (50), wins (4) and opponent batting average (.234)...began the season as a starter but quickly moved into the role of closer... went 3-1 with six saves, closing out 14 of the 17 games he appeared in out of the bullpen...facilitated FAU[apos]s comeback win over FIU (5/16) which proved to clinch the Owls of a spot in the postseason tournament, striking out a career-high nine batters, fanning nine of the 13 batters he faced in four-plus innings of scoreless baseball from innings 8-12...closed-out FAU[apos]s 6-5 victory over Louisiana-Lafayette (3/13) via a clutch strikeout with runners on base... was named the closer by late-March... earned his second save of the year by pitching a scoreless ninth in FAU[apos]s 5-4 win over ULM (3/27)...picked up four straight saves from April 18- 24...finished the year 4-3 overall, allowing just eight earned runs in his last 15 appearances...played in the Cape Cod League during the summer for the Harwich Mariners... finished with a 2.51 ERA, 22k[apos]s in 14.1 innings...led team in five categories: K[apos]s per nine innings (13.82), batting average against (.189), saves (4) and games finished (11) and tied for most appearances (13).
Freshman (2008): Burst onto the scene as a true freshman...recorded 30 strikeouts in 18.2 innings pitched, 2.89 ERA and 3-1 record...earned national recognition at season[apos]s end as an honorable mention all-freshmen player by Pingbaseball.com...closed out No. 1 Miami (4/9) to allow FAU a historic victory over its local rival in Coral Gables...allowed just two hits in five Sun Belt Conference appearances during the regular season...fanned a season-high eight in his only start vs. Mount St. Mary[apos]s (2/27)...picked up his first collegiate save, striking out three in 1-1/3 innings vs. Boston College (3/4)...earned first win working a perfect 2/3 innings against MTSU (2/23)...went through a 10-appearance stretch from March 2-April 9 without allowing an earned run...missed a significant amount of time during the second half of the season due to injury.
High School: Played for Robert Lawson at St. Thomas Aquinas HS in Fort Lauderdale, Florida...all-county honors as a junior and a senior (Sun-Sentinel/Miami Herald)...1.42 ERA as a junior reliever...1.98 ERA as a senior starter striking out 68 in 42-1/3 innings, winning pitcher in two consecutive district championship games--in 2006 he shut down Nova High School (top-rated team in the nation), and in 2007 pitched a complete game with 14 strikeouts to win the title...BCAA Senior All-Star...Florida Medallion Scholar, 3.22 GPA, 1110 SAT.
Summer (2006, 2007): 2006 WWBA World Championship All-Prospect Team...2007 Perfect Game World Showcase Top Prospect, 9.5 Perfect Game rating...Top Senior 2007 Rawlings/PG All-Florida Region, 2007 Connie Mack Regionals.
