Owls and Knights Play Out Scoreless Draw

BOCA RATON, Fla. – In an early-season rematch of last year's NCAA Tournament, Florida Atlantic men's soccer (1-0-1) and UCF (1-0-1) played to a 0-0 draw on Sunday night at the FAU Soccer Stadium. The match featured a one-hour, twenty-minute lightning delay in the first half.
The Owls had the game's two best chances, both coming in the second half. In the 58th minute, DJ Koulai's shot from inside the penalty area narrowly missed the far post. Three minutes later, a UCF defender saved the game with a desperate block from close range on a shot by Xavi Csato.
Both goalkeepers finished with three saves. FAU's Alfred Mikkelsen recorded his eighth career clean sheet, moving him into a tie for fourth in program history.
