BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic men's soccer senior Kevin Gorbell has been named the American Conference Defensive Player of the Week, the league announced on Monday. This is Gorbell's second recognition of the season after he earned a weekly honorable mention on Sept. 21.
Gorbell and fellow center back Emil Lausten were dominant in Sunday's 0-0 draw with No. 17 Missouri State. The Bears came in as the top-ranked offense in the American Conference but were held to just four shot attempts, none of which were on target.
Gorbell played all 90 minutes for the eighth time in 12 matches. He leads all Owls' position players with 1,032 total minutes.
