BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic men's soccer (2-0-1) continued its unbeaten start to the season, knocking off North Florida (0-2-1) 2-0 on Thursday night at home. The Owls have yet to allow a goal through the first three matches.

After a scoreless but cagey first half, the Owls took control after the intermission. They found the breakthrough goal in the 57th minute. David Jesus' free kick into the box was headed across the face of goal to the back post by Emil Lausten. Michel Tentchou found himself on the other end, heading it past the Ospreys' keeper for his second goal of the season.

Seven minutes later, Jonas Sundli-Hardig's first goal as an Owl provided some insurance. Jesus was involved again, this time firing a shot that ricocheted off the left post. The rebound caromed to Sundli-Hardig, who hit it one-time to the back of the net.

UNF saw very little of the ball in the second half, but they did have one golden opportunity to get back in the game. After an FAU foul in the box, the Ospreys were awarded a penalty kick. But Alfred Mikkelsen came up big, denying Geraldo Neto from the spot to maintain the clean sheet.

The final shot total favored the Owls 12-6. Each team put three shots on target. The shutout was the ninth of Mikkelsen's career, inching him within one of third place in program history.
