Owls Visit FGCU for Final Midweek Matchup

FORT MYERS, Fla. – Florida Atlantic baseball (27-24) begins the final week of the regular season with a 6:30 p.m. first pitch on Tuesday against Florida Gulf Coast (33-17). The Owls will look to even the season series at two games apiece.

OWLS IN REVIEW

The Owls won their fifth consecutive American Conference series, taking two of three at Wichita State over the weekend.
Nick Romano had the big hit in Friday's opener, a ninth-inning double that scored Brando Leroux and put the Owls ahead.
Kyle Boylston hit a three-run home run on Saturday, and the Owls rallied from a 6-4 deficit to win 9-7.
Boylston had another RBI hit on Sunday, but the Owls were otherwise held in check in a 4-1 defeat.
The Owls are in fifth place in the American Conference standings with a magic number of one entering this weekend's final series with East Carolina.

THE OPPONENT

Florida Gulf Coast has won seven straight since a loss to the Owls on April 28.
The Eagles are second in the ASUN Graphite Division standings entering the final weekend.

OPPONENT HISTORY

FGCU won the first two meetings with the Owls this season in Boca, 12-4 on March 17 and 8-6 on April 14.
The Owls prevailed two weeks ago in Fort Myers by an 8-1 margin.

WHAT'S NEXT
The Owls host East Carolina for the final three games of the regular season. Thursday's series opener is scheduled for 6:35 p.m.
