BRADENTON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic men's golf will compete in the American Conference Championship beginning Monday at the Ritz Carlton Members Club in Bradenton, Florida. The three-day, 54-hole event concludes on Wednesday. The final round can be watched live on ESPN+.
The Lineup
Louka Morin: Morin has competed in all 11 events as a freshman. His best finish was a tie for 19th at the Florida Atlantic Invitational in October. He's second on the team in total birdies with 90.
Biagio Gagliardi: Gagliardi finished eighth in last season's American Conference Championship as a freshman. He got off to a fast start as a sophomore with three top five finishes in his first three events of the fall. He enters this week's event on the rise with Top 20s in each of his last two starts. Gagliardi leads the Owls with a 71.92 scoring average.
NaShawn Tyson: Tyson tied for 21st in this event last season and earned an All-Conference nod and at-large invite to the NCAA Tallahassee Regional by way of his national ranking. This season, he has two Top 10s and leads the Owls with 93 birdies.
Guilherme Grinberg: the Owls' elder statesman, Grinberg has five Top 25s in 10 starts as a graduate senior. He's second to Gagliardi with a 72.32 scoring average.
Christian Veilleux: Veilleux will make his sixth start of the season this week. The sophomore has held the fifth spot in the Owls' lineup each of the last two events.
The Course
The Ritz-Carlton Members Course will play as a par-72 at 7,417 yards. This is the second consecutive year it has hosted the men's conference championship.
The Field
This week's field features 11 teams and 55 individuals. Charlotte is the defending champion and the highest-ranked team in the conference according to the April 22 Clippd rankings, coming in at No. 22 nationally. South Florida holds the No. 2 seed and is ranked No. 55, followed by Rice (No. 68), Memphis (No. 70), North Texas (No. 92), and UAB (No. 100), all within the Top 100. Florida Atlantic is ranked No. 105.
