BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic baseball freshman pitcher
Garrett Grant has been named as an American Conference weekly honorable mention, the league announced on Monday. It is Grant's first career conference accolade and a second consecutive weekly nod for the Owls after
Nick Romano earned an honorable mention last week.
Grant tossed seven shutout innings in Sunday's series finale victory over FIU. On the way to his first collegiate win, he allowed five hits, tied a career high with five strikeouts, and walked just one batter. The freshman has conceded two runs in his first 18.2 innings this season. His ERA stands at 0.96.
The Owls (9-6) continue non-conference play with a two-game midweek series against Presbyterian on Tuesday and Wednesday. First pitch on Tuesday at the FAU Baseball Stadium is set for 6:30 p.m.
