Owls Host Notre Dame for Opening Weekend

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic baseball begins its 2026 campaign on Friday night with a 6:30 p.m. first pitch against Notre Dame at the FAU Baseball Stadium. Saturday's action gets underway at 4 p.m. The series finale on Sunday is set to start at noon. All games will be streamed on FAUSports.com/Watch. Single-game and season tickets are still available.

PREVIEWING THE 2026 OWLS

John McCormack returns for his 18th season as Head Coach and 36th overall with the program.
The Owls have finished with a winning record in 16 of McCormack's 17 seasons.
The Owls finished 37-21 overall in 2025 and 15-12 in the American Conference.
They earned the four-seed in the conference tournament.
This year's squad includes 19 returners and 18 newcomers.
The group of returners includes the entire starting infield from last season.
Center fielder Marshall Lipsey is also back after earning First Team All-Conference honors in 2025.
The starting pitching staff is led by sophomore James Litman and senior Tyler Murphy. Litman will open the season in the Friday slot, followed by Murphy on Saturday. Freshman Garrett Grant is slated to take the mound on Sunday.

THE OPPONENT

Notre Dame finished 32-21 last season with a 14-16 record in the ACC.
The Fighting Irish closed the regular season by winning eight of its last nine.
Junior pitcher Jack Radel returns after posting a 7-4 record with a 3.58 ERA in 2025. Radel earned Third Team All-ACC honors.
Offensively, sophomore outfielder Bino Watters is back after being named to the D1Baseball.com Freshman All-America Second Team.
Head Coach Shawn Stiffler enters his fourth season at the helm.

OPPONENT HISTORY

The Owls and the Fighting Irish last met in 2014.
Notre Dame won the opener 9-2 before the Owls came back to win games two and three, 16-6 and 13-3.
This is the ninth time in program history that Florida Atlantic has opened its season against a power conference opponent.

WHAT'S NEXT
The Owls host Missouri on Tuesday, February 17, at 6:30 p.m. The season-opening 11-game homestand continues next weekend against Iowa.
