Meet Assistant QB Coach Trent Vasey
10/15/2026 4:30:00 PM | Football
BOCA RATON, Fla. – Assistant Quarterbacks Coach Trent Vasey is an integral piece to the Florida Atlantic football coaching staff.
While Hagerty Family Head Football Coach Zach Kittley is the commander of the QB position along with head coaching and play-calling duties, he will often rely on Vasey when the other duties pull him elsewhere.
Vasey, who familiarized himself with the Kittley offense as an assistant running backs coach at Texas Tech, has helped guide one of the top passing offenses in the country with graduate QB Caden Veltkamp ranking No. 3 nationwide in completions per game (25.6) and No. 7 in completion percentage (73.1%).
Now in his second year with the Owls, Vasey sat down with Frank Forte to discuss his role with the program and the important fundamentals behind quarterback play.
The feature is included in "Inside the Owls' Burrow" the team's weekly show airing each Thursday throughout the season on the Spot. The Spot, South Florida 39 (WSFL-TV), will air the show weekly on Thursdays at 5:30 p.m. ET in the Miami-Ft. Lauderdale DMA with replays running to be determined. The Spot, South Florida 9 (WHDT-TV), will air the show on Thursday at 6 p.m. ET in the West Palm Beach-Fort Pierce DMA with replays to be determined.
