Owls Close Out Trip to Boston

BOSTON – The Florida Atlantic women's track & field team concluded its trip to Boston for the John Thomas Terrier Classic meet hosted by Boston College for the only trip up North.
The Owls started the day with the 60-meter dash invite prelim when senior Camilla Nicholas represented FAU. FAU competed in a total of eight events (60-meter dash open, 60-meter dash invite, 800-meter run open, 200-meter dash invite, 200-meter dash open, 1-mile run open, 5000-meter run open, and 3000-meter run open). The Owls traveled up North for the only out-of-state meet of the season.
QUICK HITS
- Nicholas started the day for the Owls with a great day in the 60-meter dash, as she registered a new personal best with a time of 7.60 to become 6th in program history. She finished third overall
- Another new program record for Nicholas on the day, this time in the 200-meter dash. Her performance today put her at No. 8 in program history (24.58).
- Richelle Williams finished third in the 60-meter dash open, finishing with a time of 7.95.
- Out of 156 runners in the 800-meter run open, Rosa ten Berg placed seventh overall with a time of 2:10.72.
- In the 200-meter dash open, Williams finished in the top 30 out of 116 runners.
- Sophie Dethier, Reese Anderson, and Morgan Pennington represented Florida Atlantic in the mile open.
- Freshman Madison Brown competed in the 3000-meter run open as a representative of FAU.
- To close out the meet for the Owls, Andi VanMeter ran in the 5000-meter run open.
UPCOMING
The Owls will travel back to Gainesville, Fla., for the final time of the indoor season for the last regular-season meet on Friday, Feb. 6.
