Owls Fall to No. 7 Seminoles in Weather-Shortened Contest

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic women's soccer fell by a 5-0 final against No. 7 Florida State on Sunday afternoon. The match was called after 78 minutes due to persistent lightning in the area.
The Owls (2-5-1) faced the No. 7 Seminoles (4-0-1) in Boca Raton for the second time in program history.
FSU scored two goals in the first two minutes of the match to take the lead before the Owls' defense held the Seminoles scoreless for the remainder of the half. FAU had Ashley Small in goal for the first half as she recorded four saves.
FAU finished the match with transfer Megan Hogate in goal. Hogate registered four saves, her career-high in a game.

Florida Atlantic will host UTSA for the first American Conference contest of the season on Thursday, Sept. 11. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. on FAUSports.com. Fans are encouraged to arrive early to secure the second edition of an exclusive players card.
