TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The Florida Atlantic men's and women's cross country teams completed the day at the annual FSU XC Invite on Friday morning a
t Apalachee Regional Park.
The men ran an 8k to start the morning, and the women followed with running a 6k for the first time this season.Â
Representing Florida Atlantic on the women's side,
Rosa ten Berg crossed the finish line first for the Owls and came in with a time of 22:53.1. As a team, the women placed 12th overall out of 36 teams. On the men's side, senior
Samuel Henery recorded a 26:43.7 to finish the race with 79 points. He was the first representing FAU to cross the finish line.Â

Women (6K)
- ten Berg finished the day setting a new career-best in her first collegiate 6k after her performance today.Â
- Sophomore Madison Brown ran a 6k for the first time as an Owl. She finished with a time of 23:00.5.
- Three runners from FAU crossed the finish line within seconds of each other (Brown, Elyssa Toal, and Anabell Reumann).
- FAU had six runners within the top 100 on the day (ten Berg, Brown, Toal, Reumann, Isabel O'Brien, and Sophie Dethier).
- Freshman Dethier also ran her first collegiate 6k and recorded a 23:07.3.
Men (8k)
- Sophomore Donovan Petty was the second Owl to finish the race and finished with a time of 27:02.3.
- Freshman Nayzer Franco ran his first collegiate 8k, finishing with a 27:29.0 on the morning.Â
- Nate Webb also participated in his first 8k of his collegiate career.Â
- Both Franco and Webb (28:28.7) set a career best on the day in the 8k.
UP NEXT
The Owls will travel to Lakeland, Fla., on Friday, Oct. 17, to compete in the Ed Holloway Classic hosted by Florida Southern.Â
