TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Florida Atlantic women's cross country came within just two points of third place, and had four runners finish in the top 20, in the FSU XC Invitational held Friday morning at Apalachee Regional Park.
For the third straight meet,
Kate Drummond was the fastest Owl, placing ninth out of 138 women's runners in the 6K with a time of 22:31.7.
Anabell Reumann,
Gaby Castro and

TEAM FINISHES
FAU women's team total was 85 on Friday, with host Florida State's 83 placing the Seminoles third. Tampa and Jacksonville State finished 1-2. The FAU men, on an 8K course, had its top five runners place between 51st and 71st, amongst 121 runners.
TOP WOMEN'S FINISHERS
Drummond's ninth-place finish paced the Owls. Next was grad runner
Anabell Reumann, in her first 6K of 2026, crossing in 14th at 22:46.3. In third for the squad was freshman
Gaby Castro, 19th at 22:59.3, and sophomore
Madison Brown was a spot behind her, 20th in a time of 23:06.6. Setting a PR and finishing as the fifth Owl was freshman
Evie Lebrun, running a 23:13.9.
TOP MEN'S FINISHERS
Like Drummond, freshman
Carter Dieterich is his side's fastest for the third time in as many races, running an 8K time of 27:30.8 on Friday. Just eight seconds behind him was
Noah Highsmith (27:38.0), followed by the trio of
Timothy Brannon (28:04.6),
Noah Curfman (28:23.6) and
Joseph Coyle (28:41.9).
WHAT'S NEXT
With the regular season in the books, only the conference and NCAA meets remain: the 2026 American Conference Cross Country Championships, hosted by Tulane at Lake Oaks Park in New Orleans, on Oct. 31, followed by another return trip to Tallahassee and Apalachee Regional Park for the NCAA South Regionals on Nov. 13.
