BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic volleyball team wraps up its season-opening homestand on Tuesday, Sept. 2, with a midweek matchup against the North Florida Ospreys. First serve is set for 5 p.m. inside Eleanor R. Baldwin Arena and on ESPN+.
SCOUTING FLORIDA ATLANTIC
- Florida Atlantic opened up its 2025 season over the weekend, finishing 2-1 with a pair of sweeps against Kent State and Western Carolina.
- Isabelle Northam earned American Honorable Mention honors after a phenomenal opening weekend that saw the Owls' libero record a conference-leading 49 digs, averaging 5.44 digs per set.
- The Owls' offense is led by Erin Morrissey, Olivia Hart, and Anna Hartman. Morrissey boasts a team-leading 33 kills, averaging 3.67 kills per set, while Hart and Hartman rank second and third with 28 and 27 kills, averaging 3.11 and 3.0 kills per set, respectively. Hartman has been the Owls' most efficient hitter, recording an incredible .556 hitting percentage.
- Emsley Venard and Victoria Hensley lead the Owls in assists, dishing out 72 and 55 assists, respectively, averaging 8.0 and 6.11 assists per set.
- Northam leads the Owls' back row with a team-leading 49 digs, while Madison Dyer and Maggie Allred have been the Owls' leaders at the net, recording 12 and 10 blocks, averaging 1.33 and 1.25 blocks per set, respectively.
SCOUTING NORTH FLORIDA
- North Florida opened the season 1-2, falling against Georgia Southern, 3-1, and Florida State, 3-0, but earning a five-set win against UIC, 3-2.
- The Ospreys are led offensively by Kendall Newbold, Kaili Doctor, and Mackenzie Piester. Newbold boasts a team-leading 31 kills, averaging 2.58 kills per set, while Doctor and Piester have tallied 27 and 25 kills, averaging 2.45 and 2.08 kills per set, respectively.
- North Florida's assists leader is Sofia Dawson, who has dished out 85 assists, averaging 7.08 assists per set.
- Maymie Guthrie, Emma Pohlmann, and Dawson anchor the Ospreys' back row, tying for the team lead in digs with 28. Guthrie averages a team-leading 2.55 digs per set, while Pohlmann and Dawson tie for second on the team, averaging 2.33 digs per set each.
- Yarimar Francis Garay leads the team defensively at the net, posting a team-best 19 blocks, averaging 1.58 blocks per set.
UP NEXT
Following Tuesday's matchup, the Owls will hit the road for the first time in 2025, heading to Ann Arbor, Michigan, to compete in the Michigan Invitational on Friday, Sept. 5, through Saturday, Sept. 6.
