Bernard Named Assistant Tennis Coach

BOCA RATON, Fla. – John Bernard has been named an assistant coach for the Florida Atlantic men's tennis team, announced by Ricardo Gonzalez, FAU's Director of Tennis, on Wednesday.

"I am thrilled to welcome JB to our team," said Gonzalez. "He embodies everything I was searching for: youthful energy, a strong desire to learn, and an unwavering passion for tennis. JB's deep understanding of the game positions him to make an immediate impact as a coach for our players. He aligns perfectly with our culture and will undoubtedly be an exceptional leader for our team."
Bernard comes to FAU after a five-year playing career between two seasons with the Owls, including one as a team captain, and three at Florida State. The All-AAC selection in 2024-25 worked his way to the Owls' top court and was a participant in the nation's first individual championship held in the fall of 2024.
Bernard was consistently ranked in 2025 and ended his final campaign as the nation's 119th ranked player.
