BOCA RATON, Fla. – The No.1-seed Florida Atlantic softball team's postseason begins on Friday with a matchup against No. 4-seed North Texas in the American Athletic Conference Tournament Semifinals. First pitch between the Owls (44-9, 20-4) and the Mean Green (35-20, 16-11) is at 1 p.m. on ESPNU, held at the USF Softball Stadium in Tampa.
With a win, Florida Atlantic would advance to the AAC Tournament Championship for a chance at an automatic bid to the NCAA Regionals.

Florida Atlantic needed just one win in a three-game series to clinch its second consecutive regular season title against Tulsa. With Friday's game becoming a Saturday doubleheader, the Owls beat the Golden Hurricane by a score of 13-2 in the series opener to win the championship. Sophomore shortstop

- The Owls are led by Head Coach Jordan Clark in her third season at the helm of the program with a record of 120-45. She and her assistants have been named AAC Coaching Staff of the Year for the second consecutive season.
- Florida Atlantic has won 40+ games in back-to-back seasons for the first time since 2003-04.
- FAU has set its single-season program record in runs (356).
- The Owls lead the nation in fielding percentage (.985).
- Among members of the AAC, Florida Atlantic lead in runs, batting average (.339), hits (483), RBI (320), on-base percentage (.424), stolen base percentage (.889), ERA (2.42), shutouts (10), strikeouts (299), opponent batting average (.202), and fielding percentage.
- Nationwide, the Owls are 14th in ERA, 16th in hits (483), 18th in doubles (89), 19th in batting average, 21st in runs, and 25th in strikeouts.
- Courtney (23-2) was voted unanimously as AAC Pitcher of the Year and to the All-Conference First Team. She has the fifth most victories nationwide and is 28th in ERA (1.91) as well as 33rd in strikeouts (156). She has also held opponents to just a .161 batting average, the lowest in the conference.
- Senior pitcher Ainsley Lambert, All-Conference Second Team, leads the NCAA in saves with 11 to go with her 7-1 record and an ERA of 1.63, the 15th lowest nationwide.
- Redshirt sophomore outfielder Kylie Hammonds, All-Conference First Team, has reached base in 49 out of 53 games on the season and has a current streak of 22 games. She leads the Owls in runs (52), walks (33) and hit-by-pitches (13), as well as the entire conference in on-base percentage (.517).
- Rounding out the All-Conference First Team is junior catcher Chloe Yeatts, whose 51 RBI in a single season is the most by an Owl since 1995 and is one away from tying the program record.
- Junior third baseman Jesiana Mora, AAC Defensive Player of the Year and All-Conference Second Team, is on a 13-game hitting streak.
- Channell, All-Conference Second Team, is second in the conference in doubles with 15.
- Sophomore first baseman Bella Cimino made the All-Conference Second Team after hitting four home runs during league play.
- Outfielder Bella Foran leads the team and AAC in batting average (.423). In addition to making All-Conference Second Team, she is also on the All-Conference Freshman Team, joined by Johns.
- Florida Atlantic is No. 24 in both the Softball America and the D1Softball Top 25.
- North Texas is led by Head Coach Rodney DeLong in his seventh season at UNT. He holds a record of 231-118.
- The Mean Green defeated Wichita State in the AAC Quarterfinals to advance.
- Sophomore Madison Conley was a unanimous selection to the All-Conference First Team after tallying 10 home runs and 42 RBI on a .360 batting average.
- In the circle, senior Skylar Savage leads the team in starts (26) and complete games (11).
- The Mean Green have handed the Owls their only two series losses out of 18 AAC matchups over two years as a member of the conference.
If the Owls advance, the 2025 AAC Championship will be played on Saturday, May 10 at noon on ESPN2.
