TULSA, Okla. – The No. 24 Florida Atlantic softball team's historic Saturday doubleheader saw its second consecutive American Athletic Conference regular
- season title clinched in a 13-2 victory over Tulsa, followed by junior pitcher
Jaden Martinez tossing the third perfect game in program history in a 5-0 win to close the day.
In the opening game, the Owls (43-9, 22-4) were led by sophomore shortstop
Kiley Channell setting the single-game program record with five hits. Martinez then retired all 21 Golden Hurricane (20-31, 8-18) batters for FAU's first perfect game since 2002 and second no-hitter of the season.
Back-to-back sacrifice flies from junior third baseman

Destiny Johns gave the Owls a 2-0 lead in the top of the first before a bases loaded walk by the Golden Hurricane tightened the game.
FAU responded with five hits and a walk for three runs in the top of the second, leading off with two straight doubles from first baseman

Kylie Hammonds added a triple to right center, scoring on the next at-bat from Channell to up the score to 5-1.
The Owls tacked on two more runs in the third with Channell bringing home back-to-back leadoff walks with a double for a 7-2 lead. After a scoreless fourth inning, sophomore
Kiley Shelton launched a solo shot to right field to lead off the fifth. Channell then drove in her fourth run of the day with her fourth hit for the 9-2 advantage.
Shelton added her second solo homer of the day to the same right field spot in the seventh, followed up by Channell's record-breaking hit
that brought home another. Johns' two RBI double concluded the four-run inning for the 13-2 win.
With the regular season title and No. 1 seed secured, Martinez was the second outing's story. She needed just 70 pitches to retire each Golden Hurricane batter, adding two strikeouts and delivering easy popups to the defense.
The Owls' offense found their runs off two singles from junior catcher
Chloe Yeatts, and one from sophomore
Ciara Gibson as well as Cimino.
With two outs on the board in the bottom of the seventh, a ball to Martinez was deflected to Johns, who threw out the runner at first just in time to secure the history-making victory.
- Florida Atlantic has surpassed its win total from the 2024 season, now at 43. It is the most by the program since the 2016 campaign.
- Martinez recorded the first perfect game for Florida Atlantic since Nikki Myers in 2002.
- Channell's five hits surpasses a single-game program record previously held by 43 players.
- Hammonds has reached base in 21 consecutive games and 48 out of 52 appearances in 2025.
- Mora's hitting streak is up to 12 games, most by an Owl this season.
- Yeatts is up to 48 RBI, most by a Florida Atlantic player in one campaign since 2015.
- In game one, senior pitcher Ainsley Lambert recorded her nation-leading 10th save of the season.
- Junior pitcher Autumn Courtney earned the win in the opening game to move to 22-2 on the season.
The Owls will conclude the regular season on Sunday with a 1 p.m. ET first pitch on ESPN+. The AAC Tournament is scheduled for Wednesday, May 7 – Saturday, May 10, with Florida Atlantic first taking the field on Friday.
