Courtney Wins Second Straight Pitcher of the Week; Hammonds Honorable Mention

BOCA RATON, Fla. – The No. 21 Florida Atlantic softball team collected American Athletic Conference weekly awards once again, with Autumn Courtney earning her second consecutive Pitcher of the Week honor and sophomore outfielder Kylie Hammonds named to the AAC Weekly Honorable Mention list.

FAU has now received conference accolades after each of the first nine weeks in regular season play. Coming off two wins over South Florida, their eighth straight conference series victory dating back to 2024, the Owls (34-7, 13-2) further solidified themselves atop the league standings.

Earning her conference-high fourth Pitcher of the Week and fifth total accolade of the season, Courtney gave Florida Atlantic both of its wins and did not allow a run in either of her two starts. In 10 scoreless innings, she allowed just five hits and struck out seven. Friday's 8-0 win saw her pitch all five innings of the run rule victory, the team's fourth consecutive in conference play, while Sunday had her face 20 batters in a row without allowing a hit.

With a 17-1 record, Courtney is tied for second nationally in wins and is 30th in total strikeouts (116), as well as 33rd in ERA (1.85) while allowing an AAC-low .163 batting average to opposing teams.

This marks the first conference honor of Hammonds' collegiate career. As the Owls' leadoff hitter, she reached base 10 times in 16 plate appearances in four games over the past week. She had seven hits and three multi-hit games along with five RBI to lead Florida Atlantic's offense.

Hammonds leads the team and is fourth in the conference in on-base percentage (.503), as well as fifth in runs scored (38) and walks (25).
