MEMPHIS, Tenn – The No. 68 Florida Atlantic men's tennis accomplished two things on Friday evening. The first was an upset 4-2 win over host No. 49 Memphis. The second was an opportunity to play on the courts where the Owls will compete in the 2025 American Athletic Conference Championship scheduled for April 17-20.

FAU captured the doubles point, winning on courts one and three. The Owls built on the 1-0 lead with singles wins on the bottom three courts. Simon Myslivec was the first to lock in a win with a 6-2, 6-3 court five victory. Memphis would challenge, but straight-set victories by freshmen Segundo Goity Zapico and Marek Pazdera captured the match for the Owls

FAU closed out the regular season with a 10-8 record. Two Owls recorded double-digit dual season victories, with freshman Goity Zapico leading the way with a 12-7 mark while sophomore Myslivec was 10-8. Pazdera was 11-4, and fellow freshman Lucca Pignaton was 10-6 in doubles play.

I'm proud of Simon (Myslivec), Segundo (Goity Zapico) and Marek (Pazdera) for taking care of business in the bottom of the lineup. They were composed throughout the entire match and played well in tough moments. Shout out to our doubles teams at one and three today as well. They stepped up big time when it mattered."
