BOCA RATON, Fla. – After a four-hit day from

In their 40th win of the season, the Owls (40-9, 19-4) got off to a strong start offensively with four runs in the bottom of the first as the defense held the Tigers (17-32, 4-19) scoreless for the first six innings.

Later in the inning, sophomore right fielder
Ciara Gibson launched a no-doubt shot to right field for the two-run homer, her fifth of the season, and a 4-0 advantage.
Sophomore
Kiley Shelton hit the ball just far enough for a sacrifice fly that brought home freshman second baseman
Destiny Johns in the bottom of the fourth to up the lead to 5-0.
Martinez checked out in the top of the fourth after allowing just two hits in three innings. Lambert entered with instant impact, striking out the side.
After the teams traded two scoreless innings, Memphis scored their only run in the top of the sixth.
