BOCA RATON, Fla. – After its fourth series sweep of the season, the No. 25 Florida Atlantic softball team earned a pair of weekly honorable mentions from the American Athletic Conference, with junior pitcher

Courtney pitched two complete game victories, 14 total innings, in the Owls' (38-9, 17-4) sweep over East Carolina and tossed 14 strikeouts to just three runs and six hits allowed. After allowing just two hits and one run with four strikeouts in Thursday's 7-1 victory, she followed up on Sunday with a 10-strikeout performance, her most in a single game during conference play, and at one point retired 16 straight batters in the 8-2 win.
This marks Courtney's sixth conference honor, with a league-high four Pitcher of the Week awards. The Tappahannock, Virginia native stands with a record of 20-2 on the season, three more wins than second place in the conference. and is up to 139 total strikeouts, 29 more than second place.
Mora was a spark in the Owls' lineup, recording a hit in all three games and batting 6-for-14 over the course of the weekend. She tallied two base hits and a run in Thursday's series-opening win. She added a double in Friday's 3-2 victory before closing the series with three hits, one double, and two RBI on Saturday, her fifth three-hit game of the season. Mora also stole a base to move to 14-for-14 in attempts on the season, the most without being caught in the AAC.
This is Mora's third conference accolade and second honorable mention of the season, also winning Player of the Week on March 31.
