BOCA RATON, Fla. – College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team was released on Tuesday afternoon with seven Florida Atlantic swimming and diving athletes named.
The program recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA.
Gianni Carlino, Daniel Laureyssens and Christoffer Weiss on the men's side along with
Cica Carvalho, Lola Dragosavac, Julia Earnshaw, and Ella Freeman on the women's side were named CSC Academic All-District in honor of their tremendous efforts in the pool and in the classroom.
Carlino made his mark this past season for the Owls, especially at the 2025 ASUN Swimming and Diving Championships, where he became a silver medalist in the 1650 free. Carlino also contributed points in the 500 free and 400 IM. The International Business major has a 3.881 GPA and was recognized by the ASUN on the ASUN All-Academic Team.
Laureyssens came to Florida Atlantic and made an immediate impact for the Owls. At the ASUN Championships, Lauryssens became a conference champion in two different events, winning the 500 freestyle and being a member of the school record and gold medal-winning 800 free relay. The International Business major has a 3.60 GPA.
Weiss, the native from Skodsborg, Denmark, currently holds a 3.756 GPA and is studying international business. In his junior season, Weiss was a big contributor to the Owls' runners-up finish at the ASUN Conference Championships. He scored in three different events: 200 IM, 100 fly, and 200 fly.
In her first season with FAU, Carvalho made waves for the Owls both in the classroom and swimming pool. Working on her degree in pre-business economics, Carvalho currently has a 4.00 GPA. The transfer from McKendree, had eleven first-place finishes this season and helped score points for the Owls at the American Conference Championships, finishing seventh in the 1650 free.
Dragosavac is another Owl who competed in her first season. The graduate student transfer from Richmond was one of Florida Atlantic's key divers this season posting scores of 256.10 (1-meter) and 255.85 (3-meter), both of which were personal best. Currently, Dragosavac has a 4.00 GPA studying MA Political Science.
In her second season as a team captain, Earnshaw wrapped up her third season swimming for the Owls, setting personal best in three different events. Completing her degree in health science, she currently holds a 3.987 GPA.
Freeman is the seventh Owl to be listed on the All-District Team. Pursuing her degree in exercise science and health science, she currently holds a 3.950 GPA. This past season, Freeman finished inside the top 10 fifteen different times. The junior also set six different personal best this season.
