Owls Meet FIU for Weekend Home-and-Home Series

BOCA RATON, Fla.  – Florida Atlantic baseball will square off against FIU in a weekend series beginning Friday at 6:30 p.m. in Miami. Saturday's middle game will be played at the FAU Baseball Stadium at 4 p.m. before Sunday's finale shifts back to Miami for a noon first pitch. The Owls (10-2) and the Panthers (11-3) will complete the four-game season series in Boca in late April.
Saturday's middle game will also include inflatables, a bounce house, and other yard games and activities for kids of all ages to enjoy in the "Berman Zone" down the third baseline beginning at 3:30 p.m.Â

OWLS IN REVIEW
- The Owls are coming off a 4-2 defeat at the hands of No. 7 Florida on Wednesday.
- Jake Duer leads the way on offense with a .491 batting average – his 26 hits rank third in Division I.
- Friday's projected starter, Trey Beard, has double-digit strikeouts in each of his first three starts – the sophomore struck out a career-high 12 last week against Fordham.
- Beard is third in the country in total strikeouts (32) and second in strikeouts per nine innings (19.20).
THE OPPONENT
- FIU swept Merrimack in a four-game series last weekend before falling to Miami on Tuesday.

- Sunday's projected starting pitcher, Logan Runde (2-0, 1.80), did not allow a run in any of his first four starts – he then conceded three runs on four hits on Tuesday against Miami.
- Easton Marks (2-0, 1.54 ERA) is expected to start Friday's opener, followed by Owen Puk (1-0, 5.52 ERA) on Saturday.

- Florida Atlantic leads the all-time series 82-55.
- The teams split the four-game season series in 2024, with the home team winning each time.

The Owls will play five home games next week, starting with a two-game series against Bucknell on Tuesday (6:30 p.m.) and Wednesday (4.p.m.). Then Bradley visits Boca Raton for a weekend series beginning next Friday at 6:30 p.m.Â
