BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic softball team continues to be a mainstay in the national rankings, placing in three weekly polls as of Tuesday afternoon.
After recording their second straight American Athletic Conference series sweep against last weekend versus UAB, the Owls (27-4, 6-0) check in at No. 22 in the NFCA Coaches Poll, No. 23 in Softball America, and No. 24 in D1Softball's Top 25. This marks FAU's highest ranking in the NFCA since 2016.
Florida Atlantic is the only team among AAC members ranked across the polls and is a national leader in several prominent statistical categories, including tied for second in wins (27), sixth in fielding percentage (.981), tied for seventh in doubles (54), and 20th in ERA (2.22). The team also has 11 comeback wins on the season, tied for fifth most nationwide.
Individually, the program boasts the nation's top closer in senior pitcher
Ainsley Lambert (seven saves), a starting pitcher
Autumn Courtney that is tied for second in Division I wins (13), and a freshman outfielder in
Bella Foran that is tied for 12th in hits (42).
The No. 22 Owls will host Kids Night on Friday, Mar. 21 at 6 p.m. against Charlotte, where all children ages 12 and under receive free entry. The series will continue on Saturday, Mar. 22 at 2 p.m. and conclude on Sunday, Mar. 23 at noon. All games are on ESPN+.
