POMPANO BEACH, Fla. – The No. 13 Florida Atlantic beach volleyball team wrapped up play in the Florida Atlantic Beach Invitational on Sunday, falling in two top-5 matchups against No. 4 USC, 4-1, and No. 3 TCU, 4-1.

Florida Atlantic falls to 10-6 overall, USC moves to 14-3 overall, and TCU improves to 11-3 on the season.

The Sandy Owls scored first against the Trojans as Shantel Starling and Sydney Schroder earned a straight-set sweep at the 5s, 22-20, 21-14. However, USC took the last four courts in straight sets to take the match, 4-1.

Against TCU, the Horned Frogs jumped in front first, taking four courts to clinch the dual at 4-0. The Sandy Owls top pair of Marketa Svozilova and Ashleigh Adams rallied to take a three-set battle on court one, 20-22, 21-19, 15-9, defeating Daniela Alvarez who competed for Team Spain in the 2024 Paris Olympics, to close out the dual, 4-1.
