BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic beach volleyball got slotted in as No. 13 in the week three AVCA Beach Volleyball Coaches Poll rankings announced on Tuesday.
The Sandy Owls are 8-4 so far this season, which included a season-opening seven-match winning streak that included earning three top 20 wins against No. 14 Washington, No. 17 FIU, and No. 13 Georgia State.
Ashleigh Adams and
Marketa Svozilova continue to lead the way for the Owls, going 3-1 at the TCU Invitational, earning wins over No. 13 Texas, No. 7 Florida State, and No. 4 TCU. The duo boasts a team-best 11-1 record this season.
Kate McLaughlin and
Kendall Mignerey rank second on the Owls this season with a 7-5 record and finishing the weekend 2-2 with wins over Boise State and No. 7 Florida State.
Klaire VanDeusen and
Julie Honzovicova earned one win this weekend, clinching the Sandy Owls win over Boise State and boast a team third-best 6-6 pair record this season.
Sydney Schroder and
Shantel Starling earned a win over Boise State and rank fourth on the Owls with a 5-5 pair record, and
Olivia Strandberg and
Maddie Sides earned their first ranked win as a pair, defeating No. 13 Texas to move to 2-3 as a pair this season.
The Sandy Owls return to Paradise this weekend as they get set to host their FAU Beach Invitational on Thursday through Saturday, March 14-16, at the Pompano Beach Pier in Pompano Beach, Florida.
