Four Owls Named to D1Baseball Preseason Watchlist

BOCA RATON, Fla. – D1Baseball.com released its AAC season preview on Thursday. Tyler Murphy, James Litman, Trey Beard, and Dylan LaPointe were all highlighted among the league's top prospects.

Murphy was listed as the No. 14 2025 MLB Draft prospect. The junior appeared in 18 games in 2024 with 11 starts on the mound. He was named to the C-USA All-Freshman team in 2023. He is expected to maintain a role in the starting rotation in 2025.

Litman was tabbed as the AAC's No. 4 Impact Freshman. The Boca native is expected to take on an immediate role on the Owls' pitching staff after three standout seasons at West Boca HS.

Beard was listed as the league's No. 4 prospect for the 2026 MLB Draft. The sophomore burst onto the scene in 2024, earning a place on the AAC All-Freshman Team after 15 starts and 65 innings on the mound.

LaPointe is the AAC's No. 38 prospect for the 2025 Draft. The Valrico, Fla. native logged 47 at-bats as a freshman, tallying three home runs. The sophomore catcher is expected to assume a larger role behind the plater in 2025.
