McCormack to be Inducted into Irish American Baseball Hall of Fame

TAMPA – Florida Atlantic baseball Head Coach John McCormack will be inducted into the Irish American Baseball Hall of Fame later this fall. McCormack is one of four inductees who will be recognized at the First Irish Baseball Fall Classic Dinner on Saturday, Nov. 21, in Tampa.
The Irish American Baseball Hall of Fame was founded in 2008 by Shaun Clancy. Known as the "Irish Hall," it was housed inside Clancy's iconic New York City restaurant, Foley's NY, until 2020. The Hall was relaunched in 2022 as part of the Irish American Baseball Society. Clancy remains a driving force behind the Hall and serves as its President Emeritus. Previous inductees include Baseball Hall of Famers Wade Boggs, Nolan Ryan, and Vin Scully, and Jim Palmer, as well as former major leaguers Steve Garvey and Sean Casey.
McCormack is entering his 19th season as the Owls' Head Coach and his 37th season with the program. He's led FAU to four regular season conference championships and one postseason conference championship. The Owls have qualified for NCAA Regionals six times in the McCormack era.
Each of Coach McCormack's grandparents came to America from Ireland, hailing from Counties Longford, Kerry, Cork, and Tipperary. His distant Irish relatives include Hall of Fame manager Connie Mack, his second cousin three times removed.
McCormack, who is serving as the 2026 American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) President, will be joined by three other inductees: Kansas City Royals Special Assistant to the GM Tom McNamara, MLB Player Agent Tom O'Connell, and MLB Network Analyst and former MLB GM Dan O'Dowd.
This will be McCormack's fourth Hall of Fame induction:
