Three On Tap for the Owls

BOCA RATON Fla. – The Florida Atlantic men's tennis team has three matches on tap for this week. The Owls will first travel to Jacksonville, Florida, where they will face host UNF on Wednesday, Feb. 12 and then return home to host American Athletic Conference member South Florida on Friday, Feb. 14. They will then play host to perennial power UCSB on Sunday, Feb. 16th.
FAU will square off versus the UNF Osprey at 1 p.m. Wednesday. The Owls hold a 7-5 all-time record against their fellow birds and swept the match a year ago, also played in Jacksonville.
Versus USF, the Bulls hold the all-time series at 16-5, with FAU winning the match last April by a score of 4-2. FAU will look to secure their first win over USCB, who will enter the match with two players ranked among the nation's top 75.
Thus far, the Owls have challenged their young players by playing an elite schedule. They have been close in their five matches, with each ending with a 4-3 loss. However, one decision was erased after a challenge.
Senior John Bernard will lead the Owls. Bernard holds a 10-6 record in the 2024-25 season and is 3-1 in dual match play. Sophomore Simon Myslivec is also 3-1 on the year, while newcomer Jan Kusy steps in at 3-2 this season. Three Owls, Bernard, Myslivec, and newcomer Marek Pazdera, hold a 2-2 dual-match doubles record. As a team, FAU is 32-22 overall in doubles action.
