BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic men's and women's swimming and diving teams completed the Patriot midseason Invitational Saturday evening with the women walking away victorious in the standings for the third consecutive season.
Once again, senior
Daniel Laureyssens set a program record, this time in the men's 100 free. This is Laureyssens' third time breaking the 100 free program record this season.
Overall on the weekend, the Owls walked away with eight new program records, Laureyssens with five himself (50 free (twice), 100 free, 200 free, and as a member of 200 free relay). FAU also saw four new freshman program records earned.

QUICK HITS
Men
- For the third time this season, Laureyssens broke the 100 free program record, this time lowering the time to 42.77.
- James Shevchenko tallied another event win this time in the 200 fly, swimming 1:45.70. He also finished third in the 200 back (1:46.21).
- The Owls wrapped up the fourth and final day with a second-place finish in the 400 free relay (2:57.40).
Women
- FAU began the day with a 2-3 finish in the 1650 free with Alex Stevens (16:54.49) and freshman Viktoria Sorensen (17:02.12).
- Megan Drover-Smith won the 200 back (1:57.30).
- The Owls went 1-2-3 in the 100 free with Maja Piotrowicz (49.93) taking the win. Izzy Jones (50.45) and Bry Bellile (50.59) followed closely behind in second and third place, respectively.
- Nula Gow led the Owls to another 1-2-3 finish, winning the 200 breast, swimming 2:12.85. Bilú Bianchi (2:13.64) and Ella Freeman (2:15.37) earned second and third, respectively.
- The Patriot Invite concluded with the Owls victorious in the 400 free relay (3:21.58).
ON DECK
Select Owl swimmers will participate in the Toyota U.S. Open, December 3-6, in Austin, Texas, and the CSCAA Open Water National Championship on December 13, in Nathan Benderson Park, located in Sarasota, Florida. The next official meet for Florida Atlantic will be on December 15 in Coral Cables, Florida, as the Owls face the University of Miami women's team and Cincinnati.
