Owls Set Four Program Records on Day Two of Patriot Invite

FAIRFAX, Va. – Highlighted by four new program records and one new freshman record, the Florida Atlantic men's and women's swimming and diving teams completed day two of the George Mason Patriot Invitational with the women atop of the team standings and the men closely following.
Through two days of action, the Owls have won eight different events, resulting in four new program records.

QUICK HITS
Day One
- The Owls picked up two events on day one of relay action.
- Megan Drover-Smith, Bilu Bianchi, Maja Piotrowicz, Izzy Jones took home first place in the 200 medley relay finishing a time of 1:41.07.
- The men's 800 free team of James Shevchenko, Rush Clark, Sabian Branch and Daniel Laureyssens swam to first in a time of 6:28.86, a new pool record.
Day two
- FAU had a strong day leaving day two with four new program records and a new freshman record.
- Laureyssens continues to break records for FAU, this setting a new 50 free program record in the prelims before besting it in the finals, swimming 19.57.
- Jones rebroke her own 50 free school record, lowering the time to 22.82.
- Freshman Noah Reeves set a new freshman program record in the 50 free during the prelims and finals, recording a time of 19.94 in the finals.
- In the 500 free, Shevchenko won the event (4:22.60) while setting a new meet record.
- Talitha McEwan won the 500 free (4:51.10).
- Junior Trevor Kuhn took home the win on the 1mtr diving totaling a score of 307.35.
- Augusta Ness placed second on the 3mtr diving for the Owls (281.85).
- Day two closed with the men's 200 free relay smashing the program record. The team of Leyton Roe, Reeves, Clark, and Laureyssens won the event in a new school record time of 1:18.37.
